Project description: Center PerMed is focused on applied research in diagnostics and therapy of rare and genetically determined diseases. The aim is to develop both personalized diagnostic methods as well as drug candidates/drugs which would help specific groups of patients. The approach is highly interdisciplinary – from chemistry to biology, from genetics to bioinformatics. The research is divided into target validation, medicinal chemistry, biological chemistry and preclinical development, biomarkers and DNA analyses. Results of the PerMed are commercialized both by licensing and/or spin-off incorporation.
