Pharmacology and toxicology

Introduction

Work in the program covers the range of studies associated with a biologically active substance- Its ingestion by the organism, its metabolism and transformation, its assimilation and its toxicity and adverse reactions. It involves the identification of the optimal mode of administration of the substance and the verification of its pharmacokinetics in a suitable animal model. It also involves the determination of the distribution of the substance in the various organs and tissues of the animal model.
