STRIKE Consortium 5th progress meeting and IBICS-9 symposium

The STRIKE consortium met on 29-30 October 2025 for its fifth Progress Meeting, hosted by the National University of Ireland Maynooth. Over the two days, partners came together to share updates and discuss ongoing research across three key areas:

• Magnetic beads for liquid biopsy
• Metals for theranostic and imaging purposes
• Magnetic nanomaterials for drug delivery in osteosarcoma therapy

Representing IMTM and Palacký University, doc. RNDr. Václav Ranc, PhD, and Sunčica Sukur, MSc, attended the meeting and presented progress across all three research areas. The event was a great opportunity to reflect on the progress made so far and to agree on the next steps and priorities for the STRIKE project.

On 31 October, STRIKE Early Stage Researchers also took part in the IBICS-9 Metal in Medicine Symposium, organised by the Irish Biological Inorganic Chemistry Society. They presented posters from each of its research areas, highlighting recent findings and the strong collaboration taking place across the consortium.
