Czech National Node to the European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine

Project acronym: EATRIS-CZ
Project title: Czech National Node to the European Infrastructure for Translational Medicine
Project registration number: LM2023053
State funding provider: Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports
Programme: LM - Large Research Infrastructure Projects (2010 - 2026)
Start date: 2023-01-01
End date: 2026-12-31
Principal investigator: Hajdúch Marián M.D., Ph.D.

The main objective of the EATRIS-CZ research infrastructure is to further develop, maintain and operate a unique infrastructure/platform at the interface of chemistry, translational medicine and biomedicine of prestigious research centres in order to connect medical and life sciences researchers. EATRIS-CZ is the national counterpart of the EATRIS-ERIC infrastructure in Europe. This activity is based on the collaboration of existing institutions and scientists, creating an extremely interactive research and development platform and a unique combination of basic, applied and clinical research, creating an ideal environment for conducting translational research and services at the interface of chemistry, biology, data sciences and medicine. The services of the research infrastructure will be predominantly focused on the application of chemical approaches to important human health problems, ranging from infectious diseases, inflammation, cancer, neurodegeneration and chemoprevention, where the involved research and service teams have long-standing experience and have made significant contributions to research knowledge and unique service offerings. The network will offer technologies, services and expertise in the molecular details of biological processes in normal and functionally impaired cells and tissues using a variety of biological and chemical approaches, and with the training of young scientists and students in multidisciplinary research in this area.
